Precision
Precision, as the name implies, is precision seed. Precision must comply with the most stringent quality requirements. The chicory witloof seed is of a uniform size, and has a high germinative capacity.
Primed
Priming is the activation of the germination process with the objective of ensuring that the treated seed germinates more rapidly and/or uniformly after sowing. In addition, this promotes the development of a more uniform crop: a more accurate timing of weed-control procedures is then feasible.
Minipill / pelleted seed
Pelleting is enclosing the seed in a filler to change its shape. The primary objective is to improve the sowability of the seed. In addition, other compounds can be added. Chicosem sells the minipill 1.80-2.20 mm.
Coating
Film coating is a full covering, usually pigmented layer, around the seed. The original seed form remains intact. Additional ingredients may be added.
Not chemically treated (NCT)
The NCT coating is non-chemical treatment. NCT stands for “non-chemically treated” seed. The sole purpose of this so called colored seeds is to improve the sowability and findability of the seed.
Fungicide (FU)
Fungicide coating is a covering film coating that contains one or more fungicides. These fungicides protect the seed from germ and soil fungi during germination.
Insecticide (IC)
Insecticide coating is a covering film coating in which an insecticide is incorporated. The insecticide has an effect on a number of soil insects.

Germinative capacity of precision seed = 85%
Germinative capacity of pelleted seed = 85%
These product specifications are not meant to be absolute minimum standards for delivery. If the quality tests of Chicosem (c.q. Hoquet/Endinor) indicate a lower quality-level than given in these specifications, Chicosem will inform prospective seed users.
