The Hoquet breeding team is constantly working to improve the existing chicory witloof (Belgian endive) varieties. Increasingly, the emphasis lies on characteristics such as quality and shelf life. The hybrids listed below are currently undergoing internal testing. Some seed is sometimes available for practical use so that these chicory witloof varieties can undergo further small-scale experimental testing by chicory forcers. Over the next few years, these hybrids may develop into fully-fledged varieties suitable for cultivation.
