Experimental hybrids
The Hoquet breeding team is constantly working to improve the existing Belgian endive varieties. Increasingly, the emphasis lies on characteristics such as quality and shelf life. The experimental hybrids listed below are currently undergoing internal testing. Some seed is sometimes available for practical use so that these varieties can undergo further small-scale testing by chicory forcers. Over the next few years, these hybrids may develop into fully-fledged varieties suitable for cultivation. If you are interested in seed or roots for testing, feel free to contact us.
