Chicory Baccara
Practical trials were conducted with Baccara (OK-73) in the Netherlands in 2009/2010 with highly promising results. Baccara is cultivated for mid-season forcing between January and May.
High root production
Baccara has a very high production rate of forcible roots per hectare. It grows well and has strong, healthy foliage. Roots are high and uniform.
Easy to control
Baccara is already being grown on a large scale in France, and expectations for the Netherlands are high. Baccara is productive, easy-to-control, very reliable and it has a very long shelf life - qualities that assure you of security of supply in this phase of the forcing cycle. Baccara gives you the assurance you always wanted.
Seed will be widely available for the international market.
