The final crates of Topmodel were harvested in the beginning of November. The photos (click to enlarge) show the chicory just before harvest. Once again, this demonstrates that Topmodel produces bulbous heads and can be forced well into the autumn. The very dense head and relatively short pith were again noticeable features. The good shelf life and excellent flavour have already been described and are once more confirmed.

Plentifull supply of seeds in 2010

At this moment (november 2009), all Topmodel and Symphonie roots are lifted and placed in cold store. First forcing results in the new season we will see when some early lots will be forced in april 2010. Seed from Symphonie and Topmodel will be widely available for sowing next season.
