Baccara, reliable and productive
Since January, Baccara has been forced in various places in France, Belgium and in the Netherlands and the results have been promising. Baccara has gained extremely good scores in various variety comparisons and often even gains the best results.
Most important newcomer to France
Meanwhile, in France we have seen extremely good results with roots from various sources and forced under French circumstances. In France, with a substantial acreage, Baccara will be the most outstanding newcomer in 2011.
Best tested
But experiences in Belgium have also been very positive. In the international variety test with roots from 4 different sites (Graincourt, Arras, Beitem and Herent), which was conducted in Herent, Baccara was found to be the variety with the highest yield and the highest share of class 1 (click on the grafic to enlarge: OK-73 = Baccara). Furthermore, in these tests, Baccara was found to be extremely reliable in terms of internal quality and to be very resistant to red discoloration.
Great at Raijlof
Our own experiences in the Netherlands can only confirm this impression. Click on the photographs for a short snippet showing Baccara at Raijlof (grower of Flandria and Flandria-Q).
Finally, it should not pass unnoticed that, in terms of the root yield, Baccara also performs extremely well with high, consistent root numbers.
There's only a limited availability of Baccara-seed this season. Order in time !
