Chicory witloof seed

Precision
Precision, as the name implies, is precision seed. Precision must comply with the most stringent quality requirements. The chicory witloof seed is of a uniform size, and has a high germinative capacity.

Primed seed
Priming is the activation of the germination process with the objective of ensuring that the treated seed germinates more rapidly and/or uniformly after sowing. In addition, this promotes the development of a more uniform crop: a more accurate timing of weed-control procedures is then feasible.

Pelleted seed
Pelleting is enclosing the seed in a filler to change its shape. The primary objective is to improve the sowability of the seed. In addition, other compounds can be added. Chicosem sells the minipill 1.80-2.20 mm

Coating / treated
Coating is the application of a film covering the seed which contains a number of fungicides. These fungicides protect the germinating seed from damping-off and soil fungi.

Insecticide coating
Insecticide coating is the application of a film covering the seed which, in addition to a number of fungicides, also contains an insecticide. The use of insecticide coating can achieve a significant reduction in the administration of crop protection agents.
The persistence of insecticide coating is comparable to that of granulate (from the time of sowing). A repeat treatment may be required later during the cultivation.
